At the Parade
The Parade is a very serious thing. All ships try to show
themselves from their best, looking pretty, sailors are standing
in the rigg, everyone's waving hands...
Of course, Cutty Sark Tall Ships Races are primarily made for
youths, so behind the scenes there are always one, or two people
(O.K. ten to twenty ;-) to start creating waterbombs to throw at
other ships. This special event our captain said through the
loudspeakers: "No one will throw waterbombs! I repeat: NO
WATERBOMBS". That was when the ship
Vegewind
approached.
And started, well, throwing waterbombs. At us. Then there our
captains voice through the loud-speakers again: "Of course we
have to defend ourselves!
Fire-brigade training"
And this is Siebo, the one who handled me on the
boatswain-chair. This time at the Fire-brigade. The fire was said
to be started at the "Vegewind" ...
That's it
